Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The strikes follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
